    Appearance

Your soap may arrive as a large clump and you may need to break it apart in the size you wish to use. The weight of the bar ranges from 5.4oz to 6oz. Pure black African soap crumbles because of its natural ingredients and traditional manufacturing process. Here are some reasons why it tends to crumble:

    1. Lack of Chemical Stabilizers: Unlike commercial soaps, pure black African soap does not contain synthetic stabilizers or hardening agents, making it more prone to crumbling.

    2. Natural Ingredients: The soap is made from natural ingredients such as plantain skins, cocoa pod ash, and palm oil, which can result in a less uniform texture compared to commercial soaps.

    3. Handmade Process: Because black African soap is handmade, there can be variations in the texture and consistency of each batch. This artisanal method contributes to its unique qualities but also to its tendency to crumble.

    4. Drying and Storage Conditions: Improper drying and storage conditions can also cause the soap to become brittle. It is recommended to store the soap in a cool, dry place and to cut off small pieces for use, keeping the rest wrapped up and protected from moisture.
